Tornio River fishing – salmon fishing at Kattilakoski

Kattilakoski is a popular fishing spot on the Tornio River directly beside TONKO Camping in Pello. The riverbank is only a short walk from your accommodation.

Salmon fishing at Kattilakoski

In 2016, about 300 salmon weighing between 3 and 19 kilograms were caught along the shores of Kattilakoski. The Tornio River is known for its wild salmon, and Kattilakoski combines rapids scenery and accommodation in one place.

TONKO's kiosk sells fishing permits for the Tornio–Muonio River and local permits for river and lake areas. Always check current fishing rules, closed seasons and permit availability before fishing.

Salmon monitoring at Kattilakoski

A salmon counter at Kattilakoski beside the campsite is used by the Natural Resources Institute Finland to monitor salmon migrating up the Tornio River.
